Simple tips to reduce food waste:

  • When in a lunch line or in a restaurant only order what you’ll eat
  • Take home leftovers to refrigerate and eat within the next few days
  • Check your pantry/fridge first before going out to buy more food
  • Store food properly
  • Cook with scraps
  • Freeze/dehydrate/preserve food to eat later
  • Eat ugly food (e.g. weird shaped foods or weird colors – they still taste the same)
  • Share food with another person
  • Compost
